Established in 1993, International Register of Shipping (INTLREG) is an independent classification society. INTLREG is a provider of classification, certification, verification and advisory services. We are looking for suitable candidates for following position:

POSITION: Human Resources and Training Officer (FULL-TIME)

Human Resources and Training Department



Training and Human Resources Officer is responsible for developing and conducting training courses internally and externally, responsible for the implementation of training activities as per various accreditation bodies such as IRCA, USCG approved courses and other bodies approved INTLREG.

As Human Resources Officer, is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources policies and management within INTLREG.

Training Officer Function

1. Based on identified training needs and opportunity, create Annual training program intra organization and for external use.

2. Implement Annual Training program according to INTLREG training procedures

3. Prepare the didactic material to be used, as well as the studying material to distribute to the participants of the course

4. Coordination and carrying out training courses, training activities and events

5. Collect and maintain training records and documents from trainees.

6. Issuance of course certificates to successful candidate and updating certificate logs.

7. Supporting marketing group in making training related marketing materials

8. Obtain approvals from applicable certification bodies, or maritime administration organization, for the revision, approval and authorization of INTLREG Training


9. Training courses feedback Analysis and submission of reports to the Commercial


10. Any other related functions assigned by the Commercial Director.

Human Resources Officer Function

1. Talent recruitment, interviewing, hiring of personnel, formulate and place recruitment adds online.

2. Review of qualifications of the candidates applying for the position.

3. Maintain complete and orderly employees records and keep up-to-date their qualifications and certifications as applicable.

4. Familiarize new personnel with company policies, manuals, procedures, work instructions and software/hardware in use.

5. Manager employee’s insurance benefits, medical or disability leave and compliance with labor laws.

6. Carry out periodical reviews of employees’ performance and action implement decisions of the management in regards to INTLREG employees (promotions, probations, re-assignments etc.)

7. Review/update the Job Description and staff qualifications to ensure that is in accordance with the new responsibilities and duties.

8. Mediating employee conflict and assisting managers with discipline and termination of employees.


Must hold the following qualifications:

Training Officer Training Officer Function:

  • Degree in Business Administration, or
  • Certificate of competency as Maritime Officer
  • Train the Trainer Course

Human Resources Officer Function:

  • Human resource management, or
  • Degree in Business Administration, or in a related area


Training Officer Training Officer Function:

  • A candidate with 3-5 years’ experience in authoring and delivering as tutor, various training courses in maritime related fields, such as:

- Auditing Courses – Auditing Maritime Safety Management Systems & ISM

Code Training Course.

- ISPS Code – International Ship & Port Facility Security Code, CSO, SSO/VSO,

PFSO Training courses.

- Designated Persons Ashore (DPA) Course

- MLC Courses: General Awareness MLC Training Course & Inspector MLC

Training Course

- Marine Surveyor Courses

- IMO Model Courses

- Training Courses for Maritime Industry

- Customized Courses

  • IRCA trainer certification desired, but not mandatory
  • Authored courses maritime related fields

Human Resources Officer Function:

A candidate with an established career in human resource management will be considered.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English language.

  • Ability to use hardware and software for in-class training and online
  • Technical Writing skills
  • Project Management skills.

Knowledge and Abilities Required:

Description Basic Intermediate Advanced

Computer Literate in software Word suite, X

Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Create training content on social media

Knowledge of ISO 9000 Standards X

Internal Auditor of Quality X
Knowledge of Maritime Regulations such X as SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS, MLC and other maritime technical codes

E-file management skills. X

Skills in management of office equipment. X
