Position: Organizational Development Manager

Location: Panama

Department: Regional Growth: Latin America

Supervisor: Director - Organizational Development, SOLA

Date: October 2023

Status: Full-time

Position Summary

The position of Manager, Organizational Development for Latin American Region is full-time and required to pursue the outlined goals and targets of achievement of the Latin America Region’s goals. The position will support liaising with Latin America National Programs for annual and strategic planning, staff training and carrying out all processes required for Special Olympics International (SOI), including accreditation, grants, annual census and other processes.


  • Ensure that all Latin America Programs meet Special Olympics accreditation and quality standards and comply with reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that all Latin America Programs meet census process and other data.
  • Support to OD Director to analyze and advise SOLA staff on Accredited Program Plans, census and other data as part of the annual planning process under the guidance of the Manager - Organizational Development.
  • Support to OD Director to provide technical assistance to Accredited Programs with developing, monitoring and evaluating their strategic and annual plans and process to ensure that their priority goals are in line with the movement’s strategic goals.
  • Support and monitor the development and execution of grants for Accredited Program development.
  • Support OD Director to Coordinate management-training courses.
  • Collaborate with existing SOLA Region and global committees and working groups regarding Organization Development, to allow a fully integrated and meaningful approach involving different stakeholders on national and international level.
  • Participate in internal and external committees, forums and conferences regarding Organization Development.
  • Submit periodic comprehensive reports as per report schedule.
  • Develop and execute effective with, governments/UN agencies/ other organizations; related strategies to support SO objectives. Monitor and analyze legislation and regulations on disability and inclusion. Coordinate with internal teams to provide advice on public policy matters. Prepare regular reports on government relations activities.

  • College degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years’ experience and proven skills in program development related field
  • Project and/or event coordination experience including stakeholder support, reporting and budget administration
  • Strong skills in innovation, collaboration, problem solving, teamwork, and vision
  • Sound planning, organization, coordination skills
  • Diplomacy skills and familiarity with a variety of cultures
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent ability to use MS Office applications
  • Able to travel internationally with work on weekends as needed
  • Interest in Special Olympics or work with youth with/without intellectual disability helpful
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required.
